Grim Reaper

You might think me cold  
you might think me cruel,
but not everyone’s angel has lead them to happiness.
You call me a demon
but angels don’t comfort those who can’t find their way.
Some humans hurt, and cut, and bleed themselves dry.
But that’s when my part comes into play I’ll take you away.
I can’t make you happy but I’ll sure as hell try,
you won’t be lonely when I take you to others of your kind.
And maybe one day after all the pain god will remember you
and bring you to that bright and happy place.
If you’ll be happy I cannot guarantee,
but you’ll be content and that’s good enough for me.
You may not remember me once you’re there
and if you did would you question God even under his stare?
Would you care to hear why your angel didn’t lead you to that happy place?
There must be a reason I’d like to hear what, give me the chance
and I’ll ask God himself. Maybe he’s become lazy or perhaps he doesn’t care.
Either way why am I the demon of the despaired?
Lost souls spread the word no demon am I, but human I’m not.
I just live to help you get up there.
